Congratulations, Kent - your stunning image was one of two finalists from 48 initial candidates in stiff competition for consideration of the August 2023 "Photo of the Month" in the Go Take a Hike Photography Group! Even though not selected as the winner, this image is most worthy of further recognition as a superb photographic effort; it has been placed in the “Photo of the Month” thread in the group discussion board for archive.

Stunning capture of these beautiful horses in the morning light, Kent! It looks so dry and no grass anywhere. They must have to walk miles and miles to eat and drink! And it's in my thoughts, how far did you have to walk to capture this scene? Amazing photo! LF
Kent Keller replied:
Thank you so much Kathy! This is near a waterhole and was taken with a wide-angle lens. The grass is not as far away as it looks.
